I am a photographer based in Hampshire (South UK) photographing a wide selection of genre including portraits, product photography, events, interiors/exteriors, landscapes and fashion.
My current personal practice involves an ongoing documentation on the “institution”. To date this has primarily focussed on the environment within the asylum. My contemplative, large scale photographs rationalise an otherwise chaotic environment and invite the viewer to reflect upon the metaphorical implications for both mental health and institutionalisation in a broader sense.
I seek to create aesthetically interesting photographs while still incorporating a confrontational underlying context. For many of us we hold innate fears to the thought of mental demise and through my practice I wish to bring these emotions to the surface.
